Missing Child Bureau Karnataka (MCB), a web-based programme for collection, collation and sharing of information about missing and unaccompanied children, was established as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000 and the rules thereunder by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD).

MCB aims at facilitating faster communication to identify, trace and repatriate missing children using effective tools and strategies.

The Government of Karnataka appointed Bangalore Oniyavara Seva Coota (BOSCO) Bangalore as the State Nodal Agency of the Missing Child Bureau of Karnataka as per the Government of Karnataka order No. DWCD 180 MCB 2007 Bangalore dated 27th October 2007.

Don Bosco Hospet began implementing Missing Child Bureau in Ballari district of Karnataka from 2012.
