Savio Hostel begun to offer boarding facility to the rehabilitated and rescued child labourers and school dropouts of the Ballari district has been at the service of the poor, marginalized, underprivileged children of the society. The hostel has been fostering a number of students for the past several years. In the current academic year, there are 37 school students and 17 students of Don Bosco Professional Academy.

During the course of their stay in the Savio Hostel the hostellers are assisted in their intellectual formation by way of evening tuition, receiving constant updates from school teachers about the hostellers’ academic performance. Every day, following Don Bosco’s method of Good Night message the hostellers are guided to grow as responsible individuals, honest citizens and diligent students.

Emphasis is laid on the holistic development of the students. To achieve this holistic and all- round growth, the children are offered computer training, music classes, coaching in different games and sports, weekly classes on etiquette, monthly psychological counseling, medical camps, monthly trekking etc.
